What a nice place, great experience, delicious food and overall atmosphere. We went to Tyler, Tx to attend friend’s surprise birthday party and just spent one say there. We just randomly found a restaurant close to our hotel. True as people say, never judge the book by it’s cover. It was just an average view from the outside but was total surprise inside. The restaurant decor and ambience was very nice and warm, felt like home. Our waiter Jeffrey was super nice and very social. Started talking and in conversation he realized that the restaurant owner may know about our original home country Azerbaijan. He got the owner Moe to meet and greet my wife and I and turns own we had so many things in common and even spoke same language. What a small world. Moe’s wife Dominique also stopped by and we had a great conversation about life story and restaurant.. It felt very welcoming. There was a live music during our visit and the singer even stopped by our table to greet us. Food was very delicious and really enjoyed it. Jeffrey was awesome taking care of us and made experience very warm and welcomed. The cost was very reasonable. We even got a group photo with Moe and Dominique. Very pleasant couple with strong family values and it’s reflected in their business. Definitely recommend this place and will definitely visit again and recommend this place to my friends. Again, never judge the book by it’s cover, go visit and experience yourself. Moe had plans to visit Baku, Azerbaijan and I wish him all the best and enjoy his visit.

Visit 2 - June 22 2024 I loved the food and the service. Afshin was great and friendly. Suggested great food. I took the Lasagna. This place has a lot of history with good wine collection as well. We will go back again.

Visited late on a Monday night about an hour before closing time so the restaurant was almost empty. So I can't comment on atmosphere. Service was great and my pizza was surprisingly great! Crust was fantastic and baked perfectly with a slight char around the edges. Toppings were generous and I was genuinely pleased because the building outside is so generic looking. Small pizza was larger than I expected and I took the untouched half that was leftover to go. Inside is a cozy family owned restaurant and my biggest surprise was that my bottle of Shiner and the frozen glass was the coldest beer I've had in Tyler. In town for a consulting assignment and this is now my place for a weekly Italian fix. I look forward to exploring the rest of the menu. Highly recommend at least for pizza for now. Family friendly. Appears to have a full bar. I glanced at the wine list and it looked like a good mix of affordable house wines and a small list of other wines at a reasonable range in prices. Thanks for a great experience.

We were seated right away. The restaurant was decorated with walls of pictures, most of which were actors and actresses, most of which have passed. It was fun trying to name them all. The music was great, but not too loud-mostly slow and nice. My husband and I were celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary and really enjoyed the ambiance, with a candle on the table. We ordered the Chicken Picata and the (name?). It was a platter of fried shrimp, a cannelloni, spaghetti, and a meatball. Both dishes were very delicious. We were served hot bread and a small plate of garlic in olive oil. The waitress was friendly and very attentive. The prices were reasonable. We had a very nice experience for our anniversary.

Heard great things about the place from my mom and friends. I'd never been. Called ahead and made reservations for my mom's birthday, and they called me back the day of to confirm the reservation, which was helpful to me because the number of people that were coming had changed. It was wonderful. Atmosphere was great, not too bright not too dim, not exceptionally loud, great nostalgic music. The live singer was a delight. If you enjoy big band music, you should come here. Our waitress was sweet, personable and attentive. Food was delicious, and they have a large menu to choose from. Portions were good, and the prices weren't too high. My plate pictured down below was about 19 and I still had leftovers. Definitely going back again! My mom was so happy, she wants to come back for every one of her future birthdays.

A relic of a bygone age in the greatest way possible. I loved the live oldies that were being sung, the candlelight at the tables, the atmosphere, and of course my meal. There is a small dance floor for the adventurous. The house bread was baked to perfection, and my linguini primavera tasted fresh and delicious. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants ever... The classic vibes are unbeatable! You can’t find places like this anymore.

I just love this place. I grew up in a very Italian neighborhood and Mario's reminds me of a local restaurant that I frequented. From the photographs on the walls to the best tasting foods, that are perfectly cooked and seasoned. The Servers are all very professional. If you are looking for original Italian dishes, this is the place.
